PORTSMOUTH — The faculty of the Young Organist Collaborative will give a pipe organ recital on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3 pm, to benefit the collaborative 's students.

The recital will take place at St. John's Church, 101 Chapel St., Portsmouth. The performing organists are David Wold from Rye Congregational Church, Bruce Adami from Christ Episcopal Church Exeter, Colin Lynch from Trinity Church Boston, and Abbey Hallberg Siegfried from St. John's Church Portsmouth. Suggested donation is $15 ($10 for students and seniors).

All of the money raised from this concert is used to provide subsidized pipe organ lessons to area students. This year the Young Organist Collaborative is financially supporting local students who take lessons with organists who are geographically close to them, and the students come from Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Currently 19 young people are taking lessons, from beginning level to five years.

Now in our tenth year, the Young Organist Collaborative has paired more than 80 students with organists who are geographically close to them to learn how to play the pipe organ. Many of of our program graduates have won substantial scholarships to study organ performance at prestigious colleges.

We encourage you to attend this concert .
