Title: What are you playing on Easter Sunday?
Post by: Nicolette on February 24, 2016, 09:01:24 PM
I'm playing the first movement of Mendelssohn's 3rd Sonata.    Yes, the middle section is built on the Lutheran chorale, "Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir" (From deep affliction I cry out to you), which by then harks back to Lent.  But the outer sections are so massively triumphant that for me, they focus the mind on the wonder of the Resurrection.   (And I also love it, as a piece of music!)
I'd love to hear what other people are playing this Easter Sunday!
Best wishes,
Nicolette
