The newly-restored Pipe Organ of the San Fernando de Dilao Parish Church will be blessed during the Mass to be celebrate the feast of the parish's patron saint on May 30, 2012.

According to Msgr. Rolando dela Cruz, parish priest of San Fernando de Dilao parish, the  Pipe Organ was acquired and then installed in the parish church in 1966. It fell into disrepair in the late 80s and was not used since then.

The plan to restore the Pipe Organ was initiated and generous parishioners and benefactors saw to the completion of the restoration, Msgr. De la Cruz said. The world-famous Diego Cera Organ Builders, Inc. based in Las Piñas, home of the unique Bamboo Organ, undertook the restoration, reconstruction and thorough overhaul of the Paco Pipe Organ.

The entire restoration work was completed last May.

The San Fernando de Dilao parish church also serves as the temporary official church of the Archdiocese of Manila while the Manila Cathedral is closed for repairs.

I find this significant as the Phillipines is one of the least economically blessed places on earth... yet even amongst unimaginable poverty the money was found to return this instrument to playability...
