Hi!

http://www.myrrhaprincipiano.com/les_journees_de_l_orgue.ws

18th and 19th August 2012 at Entrevaux in the valley running north of Nice in the direction of Digne les Bains, Myrrha Principiano is performing on organ and harpsichord.

The instrument is significantly ancient essentially from 1717.

Un clavier (48 notes)
• Bourdon
• Montre 8
• Flûte 4
• Doublette 2
• Nazard 2 2/3
• Tierce 1 3/5
• Larigot 1 1/3
• Cornet V rgs
• Fourniture III rgs
• Cymbale II rgs
• Trompette 8
• Voix humaine 8
• Rossignol

Pédalier (12 notes)
• Flûte 8

Entrevaux is an interesting little walled town with a citadel with a fantastic view up the valley. It was the gateway to France on the border of the Ducdom de Savoie between France and Italy, from memory gained by France in the negotiations between France and the Italian general Garibaldi.

Apologies for the poor camera recording of the Grand Jeu but a little souvenir of the sound is on:

Instead of B&B it's quite enjoyable to take the car up the road up the mountain opposite the town and camp on the roadside. The noise of the wildlife is extraordinary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vefwRFcX4HY

Two other organs are worth keeping eyes open for for recitals. L'Escarene, behind Nice, built 1791 by the Grinda Brothers, pupils of Isnard at St Maximin http://www.facebook.com/orguesaintmaximin which is 90 minutes away from Nice on the A8. From http://cms.sictiam.fr/cms/32_l__escarene/upload/Calendrier_ete_autonme_2012.pdf it looks as though there are recitals on 17th and 26th August. See http://www.escarene.fr and go to Festivités / Manifestations.

The other is at Villefranche sur Mer built in 1790 by the Grindas. The organist, who's name escapes me at time of writing, is one of the most charming and accommodating in allowing access to the instrument to an organist after the Sunday service. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qqWNNlwV2U
