Wolverhampton Civic Hall 75th Anniversary Celebrations.

THE ORGAN, THE DANCEBAND AND ME :- Saturday the 18th May 2013

The New Foxtrot Serenaders, a seven piece dance band, have been recreating the music from the first half of the 20th century since 1997. Their varied repertoire includes Trad Jazz, Ragtime, Charlestons and famous radio signature tunes. Recently they have dedicated their concerts to well known artistes and composers of the time, including some of the great songwriters from the American Songbook, such as Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin and Hoagy Carmichael. Their concerts often have a theme – with this year's theme being 'Strictly Gershwin' a celebration of those 'Swonderful' song writing brothers George and Ira.

The New Foxtrot Serenaders sometimes invite guest singers and musicians to perform with them and combine concerts with another group of singers or musicians to attract a whole new audience. For the 75th Anniversary of the Civic Hall they will be sharing this concert at the Civic Hall Wolverhampton with the organist, David Ivory, who is in great demand for his recitals of popular 'classics' and transcriptions, played on church and town hall organs as well as his light and popular musical repertoire played on cinema organs.

Joe Marsh and Cameron Lloyd at the Organ and Damon Willetts at the Steinway Grand Piano.
