The rafters of Ionia First United Methodist Church will be shaking Saturday from the sounds of a powerful instrument which seems to have been forgotten.

The fourth annual pipe organ festival will take place at the church at 3 p.m. and feature two organists and a soloist.

"It's sort of a unique event in town," said Larry Brown, pastor at Ionia First United Methodist Church.

"I hate to see a serious instrument like that collecting dust," Brown said.

Guest organist Christopher Dekker from Grand Rapids, who performed at the first pipe organ concert, will be performing a selection of musical pieces which will appeal to all ages and tastes, including hymns and classical pieces from Bach.

"I told him to pick the ones that are loud and exciting," Brown said with a laugh.

Sounds like it won't be collecting much dust 8) 8) 8) ;D
