Crucifiction or Cruxifiction?

Hi!

I found myself naturally using the spelling Cruxifiction the other day and then found it wasn't particularly standard! I suppose I'm thinking of Latin!

Are there any precedents for such spelling?

As this morning we remember those events a long time ago, someone has just pointed me in the direction of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHGf-KgGh_g or should it be Crucifixion?

Am I just old fashioned in my spelling?
