Organs wanted / Re: 2 manual wanted for school chapel.

Hi Charlie,

I can completely see why you would want to avoid buying a digital organ...they mostly sound terrible, if not comical.  However, pipe organ lovers have found a haven in Hauptwerk.  I work for a company based in California that builds dedicated Hauptwerk instruments.  If a pipe organ is out of the question due to price or space limitations, we can build you an outstanding Hauptwerk instrument that, though not having the ambience of actual pipes, at least would avoid the stale sound of short sample loops and samples duplicated at many pitch levels (plus poor sampling techniques capturing way too much wind noise)  and would have the advantage of a large and colorful disposition, even on a two-manual model.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Best regards,

Hi Stefano,

Nothing quite replaces a good pipe organ, but Hauptwerk is coming pretty close, especially with a great speaker installation (particularly bi-polar speakers, which are not just unidirectional).

My company could certainly build you a 2 or 3 manual Hauptwerk instrument for around that price with anywhere from 44 to 80 stops, and more than one organ sample set if desired.

If you haven't found an instrument, you might consider contacting us.

Cheers,

To AnOrganCornucopia:

I own a company building dedicated Hauptwerk instruments.  We could build a 3 or 4 manual organ with either touch screens to display an infinite number of different organ sample sets or tabs above which several sample sets can be displayed.  As you well know, Hauptwerk blows Makin out of the water.

As for the school with the £10,000 budget, we've got a 2 manual Hauptwerk instrument with the following disposition that would be just a little more than £10,000 pounds, although regarding shipping and import duties, we'd have to check with our Customs Brokers before quoting a final price.  If it's for a practice room, speakers and amplifiers will be very inexpensive.  We deal the same speakers as Marshall & Ogletree.
