Is anyone keeping an eye on this one - it looks an absolute gem. Interesting article by Joe Riley in latest Organists' Review entitled 'Post script'.
Yes the organ world is aware of this but where its new home will be can only be speculated upon
Best wishes
Barrie
Speaking to David Wells after the last recital and he was hopeful that the organ will continue to sound within the Parr Hall for the next year or so at least.
Pity that Sheffield could not take it on but we are talking serious amounts of money ;the usual story unfortunately.
At least Warrington Council have, and continue to be, sympathetic towards the organ but within present economic restraints there is only so much they can do.
The organs survival has up to now been due to a very small band of unnamed dedicated volunteers.
There is a recital on this instrument in March this year by Ian Tracey. The administration at the Parr Hall should be congratulated for this, and we should all try to show our appreciation by attending. I will certainly be going.
Best wishes,
Paul.
Hello Paul, I'm pleased you will be at Ian Tracey's Recital in the Parr Hall next Wednesday. Ian is playing a very good programme and we won't be disappointed.
Let this be the turning point when it comes to Recitals in the Parr Hall. We must make sure that this is the first in a series of Recitals in the town.
From Organiste 2014
Have already got tickets. Will be in seat 66 in the balcony.
Best wishes,
Paul
