Hi

I was at the local crem today and had a priest in from Hawkesyard Priory, I asked him what the organ was and he told me a Hill, I looked it up on NPOR and it originated from Eton then went to Spode Hall, NPOR has no details of it there. Does anyone have any mor information or pictures of this organ?

Best wishes

There was an article in 'The Organ' No.199 about this and  Armitage Parish Church, which contains the Samuel Green organ ex-Lichfield Cathedral - altered but still retaining most of its original material.

Spode was keen on music and generous to the parish church, until he swam the Tiber, after which his largesse went to the Priory.

Hawkesyard is not only an important Hill, but it has a Father Smith case, too.
