Any thoughts on what temperaments might have been most common on mid- 19th century Italian organs (eg Serassi)?
Thanks,
David
Robert Buhagiar in Malta might well have specific knowledge of this.
However a full Ripieno might indicate a temperament with a good number of perfect fifths and Young/Vallotti/Kellner/Kirnberger III would serve well but if the upperwork is lacking then perhaps the instrument might be moving towards equal temperament.
Best wishes

That makes sense. Thanks!

Fascinating; thanks!
