FOR SALE and WANTED / William Johnson organ for sale
January 19, 2012, 07:29:20 PM
This practise instrument was built in 1982 by William Johnson of Cambridge for a professional organist who has had to retire from playing. The windchests, console, bench, and all components were new; the pipework, by Binns, was secondhand. Most of the structure is mahogany, the pedals are beech. It has been serviced on a yearly basis by William Johnson himself and has only ever needed minor adjustments.

The manual compass is C2 to C7
The pedal compass is C2 to F4

It has a radiating and concave pedal board, and an electric action.

Specification:
Lower Manual
Stopt Diap 8
Principal 4

Upper Manual
Gedackt 8
Fifteenth 2
Oboe 8

Pedal
Subbass 16
Oboe 8

Couplers
II-I
I-pedal
II-pedal

The console would need a block of floor space approx 57" x 41". The pipes in their current arrangement need a block of floor space 84"x44.5" and trunking to the motor which is housed in a separate box 24"h, 22.25"w, 20.5"d.

The pipework has been protected by a polythene and wood surround (not photographed to show the pipes clearly). Floor to top of surround 92" fits in average height room.

Buyer to arrange collection, please contact organsale@gmail.com for further details, and photos, or to arrange a viewing. This email goes to the niece of the seller who will forward enquiries.

Price: £7,650 ONO
