Hello all!

I was very alarmed to read that a rather wonderful organ in South Tottenham by H. C. Lincoln is being offered on the IBO's redundant organs list as "Complete or for scrap". It's an undated Lincoln, but was installed by Hill in its present location in 1842. It has since been further added to by Henry Jones, Rest Cartwright and Walker, and has an NPOR Historic Organ Certificate. It has 3 manuals and pedals, 29 speaking stops, 100% tracker action and a rather pretty Gothic case. http://www.npor.org.uk/cgi-bin/Rsearch.cgi?Fn=Rsearch&rec_index=N16907

Now re-advertised on the IBO website, and "not playable at the moment due to mechanical difficulties but the pipework is sound and the instrument has recently been the subject of a thorough historical survey available on request."

Come on, people, this one's important...

Does anybody know what has happened to this organ?    Is it still in the church?
We all know that the Thaxted instrument is important so how does this one in Tottenham compare.

Hi

NPOR shows this instrument to have been significantly altered, whilst Thaxted is virtually untouched.  It has the lowest grade of HOC - so obviously contains some historic features.
