It seems that William Byrd's body was recently dug up by builders working on Ingatestone Hall - and now, bizarrely, it seems that the man is alive and well and chatting on Facebook!
I should very much like to know who is responsible for spinning this yarn. I have my suspicions. In the meantime, I suggest that anyone reading this who has a Facebook account adds "William Byrd-resurgam" as a friend. He is most interesting and amusing!
