Title: Very rare 3-manual German organ in Essex for sale
Post by: NonPlayingAnorak on April 26, 2010, 05:27:34 AM
Hello!

I thought I'd inform you all that the organ of Clacton-on-Sea Methodist Church, Essex, is up for sale. It is a 23-stop, 3-manual instrument by one Walter Dreschler, a disciple of Schulze. Although originally tubular pneumatic throughout, it's currently got electric action, and is reckoned to occupy a 15ft cube. Unfortunately, the church's website has a number of pages "under construction", including the contacts page... but it shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of the right person. If nothing else, the instrument in question would make an excellent nucleus for a new tracker-action instrument... here's its spec: http://www.npor.org.uk/cgi-bin/Rsearch.cgi?Fn=Rsearch&rec_index=N18617 (http://www.npor.org.uk/cgi-bin/Rsearch.cgi?Fn=Rsearch&rec_index=N18617)

Come on, guys! This is as good as a free Schulze! If it actually carried the Schulze name, people would be fighting over it... think of it as a Skoda - cheaper than the VW or Audi equivalent, but just as good, only lacking badge-snob value.
