Post by: dragonser on April 05, 2011, 09:37:36 PM
Hi,
the Pipe Organ from All Saints Carshalton is presently being renovated by Willis in Liverpool.
after talking to the congregation it seems it may take a year or so.
I wonder if they [ Willis ]  are having an open day this year ?

Hi!

This organ is one well worth keeping eyes open for. It was sufficiently good for it to have been mentioned specifically by a worthy commentator of organs, Andrew Freeman, in the 1930s

and I heard it as a child leaving me with a lifelong ambition to play the organ.

Best wishes

Members may be interested to know that the work is finished, the organ has been in regular Sunday use for the past three or four weeks.

The Rector (Dr. Thewlis) is keen to show any interested parties the result and is intending an opening, at some point in the not too distant future.
