Just spotted a rather lovely 2 manual and pedal organ for sale on eBay. Located in Bishops Castle appears to fit a rather fine description on NPOR.

Dear Organ Matters Colleagues

Do have a look at the time lapse video I recorded of our chamber organ being taken down by Goetze and Gywnn on the 18th November for restoration and return next year. The appeal still requires a little topping up please help if you can, donations are always welcome. Email me at churchwardenpilning@gmail.com if you wish to donate

Dear all

Further to my post regarding this instrument

The composer Tim Knight has kindly written a suite in four very attractive little movements; the whole piece takes about 6½ minutes but each movement can be used in isolation. The movements are Introduction, Gigue Meditation and Scherzo are for single manual with a split at middle C but can be used on larger instruments with or without pedal

The music is now available through his website; proceeds from the sale will help the appeal as well as raise awareness of the organ, please take a look

Many thanks

Organs in danger / St Stephen's Ambridge
April 30, 2013, 06:05:21 PM
Dear all

Are you aware on BBC Radio 4's "The Archers" discussions are being held over the future of the organ in St. Stephens. It appears to have woodworm and requires significant attention to the sum of £30k; be interesting how the story develops. I assume this fictional instrument is probably two manual, Victorian pipe rack in pitch pine. Spec rather like this

Pedal   Key action   Stop action   Compass-low CCC  Compass-high c  Keys
               1   Bourdon
Great   Key action   Stop action   Compass-low C  Compass-high f3  Keys 54
               2   Open Diapason
               3   Gedact Bass
               4   Claribel
               5   Dulciana
               6   Principal
               7   Full Mixture
Swell   Key action   Stop action   Compass-low C  Compass-high f3  Keys 54 Enclosed
               8   Double Diapason
               9   Open Diapason
               10   Stop'd Diapason
               11   Principal
               12   Cornopean

Anyway there you go - dum di dum di dum di dum......

Fundraising for an Organ / William Allen Chamber Organ
August 12, 2012, 01:11:34 PM
Dear All

I am raising awareness of our 1794 William Allen chamber organ for which I putting together a Heritage Lottery Fund Bid for £50k. The instrument has lost several of the more exciting stops it should have over the years and we aim to put these back as well as a full overhaul of the soundboards etc.
The historically sensitive restoration has the backing of Jennifer Bate who came and played the organ on 31st July, once the work is undertaken she has expressed an interest in performing a reopening concert. Details will be given when known.
Please show your support in anyway you can.

With best Wishes

Dear all

Further to my post above we now have a "Sponsor a pipe" scheme in operation, with very modest amounts for sponsorship being sought. it is also a way of getting wider audience for the instrument. Prices start at a pocket money friendly £2.50 up to £70 (or more if you wish). In the first instance please email me at churchwardenpilning@gmail.com for more details

Every good wish

Jonathan

Update

To date we have managed to raise just under £4000 but there is still time to give

Thanks

Jonathan

Further update

Please see the attached link to Tim Knight music, he has kindly written a suite for the organ, with inspiration from the likes of Stanley and Woland, it can be played on larger instruments of course with or without pedals. Each copy sold raises money for the appeal and also raises awareness of this little undiscovered gem. http://www.timknightmusic.com/
