Might someone be able to contact the seller and draw attention to this forum . . . and perhaps suggest incorporating it into the developer's scheme?
Best wishes

Organ no longer for sale, I note ;D
Hi!
Let's hope that we might hear first hand news of preservation so that this thread can be transferred into "Organs Preserved" . . .

Hi!
For what it is worth I received the rather extraordinarily hostile response from the seller in the following terms:
QuoteI am a little surprised that you would take it upon yourself to post
details of my pipe organ without my agreement first. I would have no
intention of including it in my development. It is actually going to
Hungary to a museum. Please remove my details from where you have posted
the link. Thank you.
I responded that I had not posted the seller's details, that I was merely commenting on the subject matter of a public auction and that we would be pleased to hear progress of the instrument's preservation in Hungary . . .
Best wishes

Indeed, it could be most positive for it to go to Hungary. The Germans and Dutch already have a taste for English Romantic organs, as do certain ex-Soviet Bloc countries (Latvia among them), but I've not heard of the Hungarians buying them up.
I have been threatened with legal action to have the ebay link and this mention removed from the forum. One wonders why on earth there should be motive for such hostility?
Ebay is a public internet marketplace. How can drawing attention to anything being sold on ebay be wrong?

How very strange. I had planned to bid on some of the other items being sold by this person, but I think I'll not in view of the seller's attitude. Perhaps it's best to remove this thread from the forum
Nowt so strange...........................

The reality is that in view of the specific focus of this forum and its international attraction, it coming up on Google searches for "Pipe Organs for Sale" higher on Google than any ebay listing, the Hungarian very probably came to find out about the organ and bought it on account of its mention and link here. The seller therefore might be expected to be expressing gratitude rather than hostility. . . It's a situation which I do not understand.
Perhaps the seller thinks he'll be asked for commission?

Hi
Surely, material posted on eBay is, in effect, in the public domain. I really don't see why he should complain.

I would take no notice of him. He can't get anybody done if he tries because ebay is a public domain area, and if you put it in on google search it still goes to the ebay link. Until the ebay link has gone from any search engine then he can do nothing. :)
Legally he doesn't have a leg to stand on. Quite how he thinks this is harming him or his auction(s) I cannot think.
Where's Barry Williams when you need him?
