Whilst of apparently limited specification it was an H&H of this type I knew well in my youth as a child and loved the sound . . .

The organ is an original Harrison & Harrison tracker action instrument, the design and building of the organ overseen by Lt. Col. George Dixon, who was tonal adviser to Arthur Harrison at this time. Col. Dixon lived at St. Bees, just along the coast from Ellenborough.
The organ was opened on 30th June 1913 and consequently is 100 years old.
The Great has 5 stops with a complete chorus from 16' to 2' and the Swell has 3 stops, so well voiced that with the octave coupler it still produces a secondary chorus.
- John Hart
Console integral, traditional drawstops
Dark wooden casework, rather nice (made in Keswick I believe); if stripped, it would look stunning, especially if the front pipes were gilded.
Pedalboard radiating and concave
Swell pedal balanced, central
The whole organ seemed to be working quite well and made a most impressive sound. The blower and bellows seemed OK from the console.
The church has been unused for about 2 years and the playable condition is a real tribute to the quality of the Harrison organ.
- Rev. David Cooper

This is the same organ as that referred to on the 'Harrison & Harrison in Cumberland' thread. I hope it finds a good home.
