Yes, the titles in the previous links are a bit vague but ONE of the improvements planned for the hockey venue IS the installation of a pipe organ ;D :o 8)

This article offers some more details of the stadium renovations, and what will be done to acomodate the organ...http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/lightning/content/tampa-bay-lightning-announces-35-million-renovations-st-pete-times-forum#comments (http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/lightning/content/tampa-bay-lightning-announces-35-million-renovations-st-pete-times-forum#comments)

QuoteEliminating two entire sections (323 and 324, totaling 574 seats) for the construction of a bar and stage area that will be home to the new pipe organ.

One of the artist renditions shows what looks like enough space for a really big organ :o 8) ;D

So I wonder who will design and build it???

(Bear in mind there is only one other venue in the USA that I am aware of which can support a hockey tournament AND has a pipe organ... OK, won't hold you in suspense-- Boardwalk hall ;D  Read somewhere that someone played the Midmer-Losh when
the hall was hosting the Ice Capades, and cracked the ice :o)

Looks like the American Theater Organ Society has picked up on this ...

And another local news article...

http://www2.tbo.com/sports/lightning/2011/jun/23/2/leiweke-lightning-bolt-ahead-to-win-back-fans-ar-239361/ (http://www2.tbo.com/sports/lightning/2011/jun/23/2/leiweke-lightning-bolt-ahead-to-win-back-fans-ar-239361/)

QuoteThere will be new seating, improved sight lines, a monstrous pipe organ, and all other sorts of goodies – along with the lightning bolt. By early next month, Leiweke hopes to test a giant coil that will shoot a lightning bolt across the top of the arena.

Quote"I've got to find someone who can play that massive pipe organ," Leiweke said. "And that lightning bolt. Wait 'til you see it. It's going to be so cool."
