There is an elderly and barely functioning Burge Electronics ( For-runner of Wyvern) Organ available in the Tunbridge Wells area. Solidly built - could be a candidate for new electronics or as a carcass for a hauptwerk conversion. PM me for details pics etc

That will be just over a decade since it was first proposed

Hope they've notified all the relevant re-housing bodies. It would be a shame if they can't be re-used.

I recall having a go at St Andrews  - did suffer from a very poor location. Wasn't (isn't) Robert Munns the organist at St Andrews ?

Major fire this morning - roof of the great hall has gone. Lets hope that most of the organ was safely tucked up in Browne's workshop

It will be interesting to see how this project is tackled: whether the main organ is reconstructed first, or the new Nave organ arrives first.

I imagine a formal announcement cannot be too far away.

Regarding the comments on the choir division, my observation is that the current specification is (probably) more useful for repertoire and congregational accompaniment rather than the day to day accompaniment of the choir. Which is preferable,  is open to almost endless debate.

Whilst I think the current organ has pretty much all the bases covered, a broadening of the palette will, I suspect, be welcome.

Now gone to silicon heaven.

Free to good home

This organ dates to, I think, the late 70's early 80's and has been in constant use in our church from new. We are upgrading and need to dispose of this organ. The organ is offered free – although a small donation would not be refused.

Issues, there is a bit of hum from the organ, noticeable at the console.

Gt to Pd does not work. There are occasional buzzes from the pedal Bourdon ( it was fine during yesterday's service )  and less occasional buzzes from the other pedal flutes. Manual stops are usually buzz free.

Console is in light Ok and in tidy condition. 2x61 manuals  30 pedals, 31 stops.

Pedal board detaches very easily and the whole console is on wheels.

There is no MIDI facility on the organ. Perhaps it could be converted somehow to Hauptwerk ?

Yes - the organ will now be enjoying some Mediterranean sunshine. I shall miss it

Final Sunday service is March 3rd.

New home still wanted

I sent an update and pictures in on the 15th September 2011, so a bit more than 6 months !

Looks like I will be able to enjoy one final Christmas at Centrepiece.

Who would have thought it could take so long to close a church !

The organ still needs a new home.

Still planning to close - the delays go on and on and on.

Its very frustrating for all concerned - still hope to find a good home for the organ. We just need someone with a flexible time scale

I heard their organ in St Peter & Pauls in San Francisco, it was rather good.
