UPDATE: Organ still at St. Michaels. There has been some interest but these have turned out to be a waste of time unfortunately. Would prefer people with actual interest to come forward.

Hi, thanks for your interest. Just messaged the organist about those dimensions. The entire organ is on unit chests, so it can be reduced or enlarged in anyway allowing great flexibility. When the organ was installed at the Eleventh Church of Christ Scientist, the organ accommodated the chamber which ran the entire front width of the building which can be seen on the videos linked above. I am unsure of exact measurements but for height, I know that the lowest 7 notes are acoustic on the pedal Sub Bourdon 32ft, making the lowest G the tallest pipe which would be well over 16ft in length.

The plan at St. Michael's Church was to divide the organ. The Pedal, Great, Swell and Solo would accommodate the organ chamber in the West aisle whilst the Choir was to be installed in a separate case in the East aisle with an small independent pedal division.

If you wish to see images of the organ at St. Michael's Church presently. Message me your email address and I will send images to you.

Good news with this organ. Plans are to have this organ valued and placed on market the other side of March this year. Change with plans came after an increase of interest in it. More information will be available on the Church in Wales website...

See: http://parish.churchinwales.org.uk/m706/homepage/st-cadocs-trevethin/

More news will be on it shortly.

Four manual, 1925, J. W. Walker from St. Michael's Church, Abertillery is up for grabs. Organ originally from the Eleventh Scientific Church, Marlborough, London, upon the church building becoming a dance academy. The organ was transferred to St. Michael's Church, Abertillery, Circa 2009, to replace their W. G. Vowles organ.

J. W. Walker Organ NPOR ref: [A00257]
W. G. Vowles Organ NPOR ref: [K00263]

Just to clarify the J. W. Walker organ is on offer and not the Vowles

Due to financial constraints this plan never proceeded and now the Walker is no longer of use sadly. Organ complete with exception of Console and Blower which has been added to the Vowles organ. Everything else is available. Specification is as follows:

I know there are many organs in this position. But is there anyway to help maintain them? I would have gladly helped maintain them myself. But I have no experience on fixing the action mechanisms or tuning etc. There are alot I know of and it will take ages to write about them on here. I've also managed to log them all on my computer and hopefully I can finally get them all on NPOR.

You can contact the minister there. He's Rev. Brian Pippin his number is 01495 762228. Hurry though it's being scrapped in a week or two.

Organ by James J. Binns 1917 for the English Baptist Church in Abercarn has almost had it. Church is still open but no services conducted in a long time. IIP 11 Binns organ [V00119] on NPOR has now fallen into a bad state after someone in the church turned off the de-humidifiers in the console. Most of it was working before hand. Not sure whether church will stay open or close as its all falling apart.

Anyway, organ split into 2 cases. GT and PD in Left, SW in right. Two comb pistons to GT and SW and balanced SW pedal. Binns TP action throughout.

Stop List: PD Bourdon 16ft, Bass Flute 8ft. GT - Open Diapason 8ft, Dulciana 8ft, Gedact 8ft, Principal 4ft. SW - Geigen Principal 8ft, Rohr Flute 8ft, Vox Angelica 8ft, Suabe Flute 4ft, Oboe 8ft.

Couplers GT to PD, SW to PD, SW to GT, SW to GT oct, SW to GT sub oct, SW oct, SW sub oct.

Peter Conacher & Co. organ Circa 1880s at St. Cadoc's, Trevethin Pontypool. (Not listed on NPOR yet) is due to be scrapped by the church as it is badly damaged and too costly to repair. It's originally IIP, (approx) 17 speaking stops, but presently with a Choir organ installed Circa 2000, IIIP with 22 speaking stops. The church says that they are happy for anyone to have the organ as long as they remove it completely. Otherwise it will be scrapped. This organ can be visited but not tried as the blower is present but disconnected.

Swell and Choir enclosed with respective Ratchet Swell pedals. Pedal, Great and Swell on Tr and Me key and stop action whilst Choir on EL for key and stops action. Two comb pistons to Great and 3 for Swell.

Stop list: PD - Open Diapason 16ft, Bourdon 16ft. CH - Flute Traverso 8ft, Viol d'Orchestre 8ft, Dolce 8ft, Wald Flute 4ft, Clarionet 8ft. GT - Open Diapason 8ft, Small Open Diapason 8ft, Dulciana 8ft, Clarabella & Stopped Diapason 8ft, Principal 4ft, Harmonic Flute 4ft, Fifteenth 2ft. SW - Double Diapason 16ft, Horn Diapason 8ft, Salicional 8ft, Voix Celeste 8ft, Lieblich Gedact, Gemshorn 4ft, Piccolo 2ft, Horn 8ft, Oboe 8ft, Tremulant.
