For whatever reason I was unable to connect... Server down?  Over a US holiday weekend... and then some...  Glad it's back up...

Likewise - and I've also had e-mail from another reader who missed the site.

Maybe there could be an alternative site (perhaps a blog page or something) for updates if the server goes AWOL again?

Keep up the good work.

Every Blessing

Speaking of "readers"... I daresay I desire more of them to become "writers"...   I am especially disappointed that nobody has bothered to respond  in reference to the Studio Acusticum organ project underway in Pitea, Sweden right now...             http://acusticumorgan.com/specification (http://acusticumorgan.com/specification)

That instrument has some serious implications for the future of the organ as an instrument of the 21st century and beyond.

It is claimed to be the largest instrument of its kind in Scandinavia... but I would point out that it may in fact be the largest concert hall instrument in Europe upon completion... besting Royal Albert Hall... used here by a rock-and-roll band in a concert held there...      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7P3qEq9nBo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7P3qEq9nBo)
and

Moreover, it will utilize an extensive electronic control system... making it possible to play and control the instrument from anywhere one could obtain a suitable internet connection... and with a computer running Hauptwerk virtual organ software, loaded with a sample set from that organ ;)
(Yes, one of the first things planned for that instrument is a complete sampling for Hauptwerk ;D
Its "ground-breaking Harmonics division" along with the advanced control functions make even human speech synthesis possible...  from a pipe organ 8)

Yes, you could even use it to play Bach...  Oh... I found an interesting essay written about THAT subject...    http://www.organfocus.com/features/scholarly_works/bicknell.php3 (http://www.organfocus.com/features/scholarly_works/bicknell.php3)

As far as alerting the forum administration of a "service interruption" I suppose there is always the telephone ::)  Not sure how telephone service is billed in the UK...  although it likely wouldn't hurt to join one of the other international music forums with a section devoted to pipe organs so as to establish a form of "orderwire" if you will... just in case...
